From the runway to the silver screen and everything in between, the Mercedes-Benz Bokeh South African International Fashion Film Festival is the annual event for cinephiles and fashionistas alike.
Now in its third year, the annual Mercedes-Benz Bokeh South African International Fashion Film Festival showcases creative talent in style, focusing on the masterful marriage of fashion and film. Budding film directors from the world over are offered a global stage to submit their unique short fashion films as well as shooting to the brief of ‘bespoke’ and Mercedes-Benz.
‘This is the third year that Mercedes-Benz is the headline sponsor of this prestigious and pioneering event. The Fashion Film Festival is a unique and multifaceted platform that showcases the best elements of our brand as it celebrates innovation, excellence and peak performance while establishing a strong and lasting emotional connection with a targeted global audience,’ says Selvin Govender, Mercedes Benz marketing director.
Running from 21-23 April at the new V&A Waterfront aquarium, the event culminates in a glittering awards ceremony with prizes awarded in categories covering all elements of the filmmaking process.
The grand prize is the Mercedes-Benz award, with the winner walking away with a cool $10 000.
As the festival builds towards its Saturday gala night culmination, the red carpet experience promises dazzling distractions aplenty, ranging from 3D printed jewellery to makeover and manicure stations. FashionOne, official TV Partner to the Mercedes-Benz Bokeh South African International Fashion Film Festival, will be beaming the event to over 10 million homes in Africa, and 170 countries globally.
