The luxury briefing

This week we bring you luxury news from superyacht Irisha, Hublot, IWC, and Monaco.
Heesen Yachts have launched their superyacht Irisha

Challenging the old adage which says owners of boats only enjoy them on two occasions – when they’re first bought, and then only again when they’re sold – superyacht Irisha is in a class of its own. Built by Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts, and designed by British studio Harrison Eidsgaard, Irisha was originally conceived as a day boat used to explore Sardinia, Italy. Cue plush exteriors with a generous sundeck. She rings in at 51m, and reaches an average speed of 15 knots, with a top speed of 25 knots.

Shepard Fairey and Hublot

Hublot announces partnership with renowned street artist, Shepard Fairey

While Hublot has long been a big name in the competitive luxury timepiece space, so too has their recent collaborator also been a heavyweight in his industry.  Shepard Fairey, known as the inspiration for cult streetwear brand OBEY, has joined forces with Hublot to reveal an exclusive new watch named the Big Bang Meca-10 Shepard Fairey. Hublot are not the first luxury brand to get behind street inspiration in 2018, with Gucci working closely with Harlem-based streetwear legend, Daniel Day, earlier this year.

The Big Bang Meca-10 Shepard Fairey forms part of the larger Big Bang Meca-10 family – a fresh take on Hublot’s signature style. The watch comes with a 10-day power reserve, and a mechanical aesthetic.
