IWC Spitfire Collection
The Spitfire, designed by Reginald J. Mitchell, is considered one of the most sophisticated developments in the history of aviation. The iconic shape of the legendary British fighter aircraft is the result of a perfectly functional design.
All Spitfire watches feature IWC-manufactured calibres. The design is inspired by the puristic instrument design of the Mark 11. The iconic navigation watch was produced in Schaffhausen for the Royal Air Force from 1948 and was worn by many of the pilots and navigators serving at that time. The characteristic instrument design of IWC’s Pilot’s Watches was the result of engineering to the specific requirements of military aviation.
IWC Le Petit Prince and Antoine De Saint Exupéry Special Editions
The Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition Le Petit Prince is the first pilot’s watch from IWC with a constant-force tourbillon. For the first time, the Swiss watch manufacturer has used hard gold for the watch case – a significantly harder and more wear-resistant version of red gold. With the Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Edition Le Petit Prince, IWC has for the very first time combined a perpetual calendar with a chronograph function.
IWC Top Gun Collection
The Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Top Gun Ceratanium is the first pilot watch with a Ceratanium case. The material developed by IWC is as lightweight and robust as titanium and as hard and scratch-resistant as ceramic. The Top Gun watches, which IWC has been producing since 2007, take their name from the U.S. Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program. This training programme provides the best Navy pilots with flying and tactical training. The Top Gun watches are specially designed with robust materials, such as ceramic and titanium, to meet the specific requirements of elite jet pilots.
