5 June, 2018 | A former business pitstop, Dubai is increasingly become a holidaying choice in its own right, and no less so because of the new Five Palm Jumeirah.
In the colder months of the Southern Hemisphere, the beaches and pools of the Five Palm Jumeirah beckons, though you might find yourself staying for the views. Of which there are many, owing in large part to the hotel’s overall size that allows guests ample space from which to view the rest of Dubai from its location on Palm Beach. In the ‘more is more’ vein of Dubai’s attitude to urban planning, the resort is big.
As in, 468-room big. The design elements follow suit, with an almost-irreverent treatment in the hotel’s 15m by 15m arrival lounge, 80m pool, and array of sea-facing, geometric glass balconies. The building was designed by the P&T Architects and Engineering group, and also features spacious (491 sqm) and exclusive four-bedroom suites decked out in plushy interiors inspired by the Arabian Sea. These also come with a private pool, jacuzzi, outdoor rain shower, and more sunbeds than you’ll know what to do with.
Along with this, three on-site restaurants prove leaving the hotel a fool’s errand, and so to does the spa’s extensive treatment menu. The Five Palm Jumeirah can also be commended on its philanthropic pursuits, which they claim have saved 165 children’s lives to date through funding critical heart operations in India. Kudos.
