Step inside the Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo’s new Princess Grace suite

Stay in the room decorated with Princess Grace’s artwork, family photos and her favourite literary and poetic works

The French Riviera has long been a favourite destination of Europe’s the jet-set and high society, and on the sun-soaked shores of Monaco, you’ll find the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, their accommodation of choice for over a 140 years.

Although all of the rooms are fit for a princess, the hotel recently unveiled a luxury suite inspired by Monaco’s most famous royal – Princess Grace.

The 910-square-metre opulent space takes its name and its décor style, from the movie star Grace Kelly, who became a princess when she married Monaco’s Prince Rainier in 1956. It’s claimed the Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo was her five-star retreat of choice.

The new addition is the centrepiece of four-year, multimillion-dollar renovations at the hotel. Building materials included mother-of-pearl inlays and high-quality Carrara marble from Italy’s Tuscany region.

Housed on the seventh and eighth floors of the hotel’s new wing, it was designed with the blessing of the Monaco royal family, which donated Princess Grace’s artwork, family photos and her favourite literary and poetic works from their private collection.

The penthouse features two luxury bedrooms with dressing rooms, two bathrooms complete with sauna and steam room, multiple lounges, a dining room and an office. Floor-to-ceiling windows pull in plenty of natural daylight and the suite’s sweeping terrace, which boasts 180-degree views of the Mediterranean, offers a private infinity pool.

All your royal requests will be handled by a dedicated team of concierges that can arrange for exclusive experiences and reservations – perhaps a private tent on the Monte Carlo beach or a day of pampering at the famous Thermes Marins spa.

The actual cost of the Princess Grace penthouse remains a closely guarded secret.

“You are buying a dream experience. Dreams have no cost,” one member of the hotel’s team confided.
