The new Rolex Cellini Moonphase

At Baselworld 2017, Rolex introduced two new creations, the Oyster collection and the Cellini Moonphase.

A new watch, the Cellini Moonphase, with an exclusive display of the phases of the moon, joins the Cellini collection. In a 39 mm case in 18 ct Everose gold, this new model is driven by a self-winding mechanical movement entirely manufactured by Rolex with a patented complication to display the moonphases. The Cellini Moonphase is fitted on a brown alligator leather strap with a folding Crownclasp in 18 ct Everose gold, a first for a Cellini model.

Like all Rolex timepieces, the new watches presented in 2017 are covered by Rolex’s own Superlative Chronometer certification – symbolized by the green seal – guaranteeing that they satisfy performance criteria which exceed watchmaking norms and standards in terms of precision, power reserve, waterproofness and self-winding. The certification is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.

Leading brand of the Swiss watch industry, Rolex, headquartered in Geneva, enjoys an unrivalled reputation for quality and expertise the world over. Its Oyster and Cellini watches, all certified as Superlative Chronometers for their precision, performance and reliability, are symbols of excellence, elegance and prestige. Founded by Hans Wilsdorf in 1905, the brand pioneered the development of the wristwatch and is at the origin of numerous major watchmaking innovations, such as the Oyster, the first waterproof wristwatch, launched in 1926, and the Perpetual rotor self-winding mechanism invented in 1931. Rolex has registered over 400 patents in the course of its history.
