The new Rolex Oyster Collection

At Baselworld 2017, Rolex introduced two new creations, the Oyster collection and the Cellini Moonphase.

This year’s flagship models include a new generation of the professional divers’ model, the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller, updated for its 50th anniversary with a new, larger 43 mm case and Rolex‘s new calibre 3235 movement. The new Yacht-Master II, the unique regatta chronograph, features a new dial and new hands for increased legibility. New versions of the Cosmograph Daytona in 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold have adopted the innovative Oysterflex bracelet in elastomer and a monobloc Cerachrom bezel in black ceramic.

The Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller, the classic watch for world travellers, is introduced in yellow Rolesor and white Rolesor versions (combining 904L steel and 18 ct yellow or white gold) with new dials. The men’s and women’s classic Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41 and Lady-Datejust 28, updated in 2015 and 2016, are offered this year in 904L steel or in white Rolesor versions (904L steel with an 18 ct white gold bezel), equipped with new-generation mechanical movements. Rolex’s expertise in gem-setting is displayed this year on an Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 40. In 18 ct Everose gold on a black Oysterflex bracelet, this version features a bezel adorned with gems of many hues.

Sea Dweller

43 MM CASE AND CALIBRE 3235
The latest generation of the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller, the legendary professional divers’ watch created 50 years ago, in 1967, now features a larger, 43 mm case and the new calibre 3235. This movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology is backed by 14 patents, including for the exclusive Chronergy escapement, and offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. For the first time, the new Sea-Dweller is equipped with a Cyclops lens on the crystal at 3 o’clock to enhance the reading of the date. The dial carries the name Sea-Dweller in red, a reference to the first model.

Yacht-Master II

NEW DIAL AND HANDS
The new Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master II is equipped with a new dial, and new hands characteristic of Rolex Professional models, enhancing legibility and sharpening the aesthetic appeal of this unique regatta chronograph. The dial features a triangular hour marker at 12 o’clock and a rectangular marker at 6 o’clock for a more intuitive reading of the watch. A luminescent disc on the hour hand clearly distinguishes it from the minute hand. This new configuration is available across the Yacht-Master II range.

Cosmograph Daytona

OYSTERFLEX BRACELET AND CERACHROM BEZEL
Three new versions of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona in 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold are fitted on the innovative Oysterflex bracelet in elastomer reinforced with a metal blade. They are also equipped with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel, developed and patented by Rolex, in black ceramic. This latest evolution is a blend of high technology and sleek aesthetics, and pays tribute to the heritage of this legendary chronograph.

Sky Dweller

YELLOW AND WHITE ROLESOR
The Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller, Rolex’s classic watch for world travellers, is being introduced for the first time in yellow Rolesor (combining 904L steel and 18 ct yellow gold) and white Rolesor (904L steel with an 18 ct white gold bezel) versions. The dials now feature index hour markers and a luminescent Chromalight display, modernizing the aesthetics and enhancing legibility. The hands have also been lengthened for greater visual comfort.

Datejust 41

904L STEEL AND WHITE ROLESOR
The new generation of the classic Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41 is now available in 904L steel and in a white Rolesor version (combining 904L steel with an 18 ct white gold bezel). Reflecting the yellow Rolesor and Everose Rolesor versions introduced in 2016, the new Datejust 41 watches are equipped with the redesigned 41 mm case, a wide selection of dials as well as the new Rolex calibre 3235 – a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology with its 14 patents, the new Chronergy escapement and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

Lady-Datejust 28

904L STEEL AND WHITE ROLESOR
The 904L steel version of the classic Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust 28, as well as a white Rolesor version (combining 904L steel and an 18 ct white gold fluted or gem-set bezel) are both available with a wide choice of dials. As with the gold and Rolesor versions introduced in 2015 and 2016, these new watches feature the redesigned and larger 28 mm case, and calibre 2236, a new-generation mechanical movement equipped with the Rolex-patented Syloxi hairspring in silicon.

Yacht-Master 40

GEM-SET BEZEL IN MANY HUES
The Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 40, the emblematic Rolex nautical watch, is introduced in a gem-set version. Its rotatable bezel is adorned with multicolour sapphires, green tsavorites and a triangular diamond at 12 o’clock. This 18 ct Everose gold version is equipped with the innovative, elastomer Oysterflex bracelet, developed and patented by Rolex.

Like all Rolex timepieces, the new watches presented in 2017 are covered by Rolex’s own Superlative Chronometer certification – symbolized by the green seal – guaranteeing that they satisfy performance criteria which exceed watchmaking norms and standards in terms of precision, power reserve, waterproofness and self-winding. The certification is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
