What makes this car so special is its rarity. Only 12 of the 18 planned E-Types were built between 1963 and 1964. This particular car is one of the six continuation cars that were built after 2014 to complete the collection, but it’s even more special because it is “Car Zero”. Used as the North American press car, it was rebuilt before being delivered to its private owner. The car was built using the original blueprints, materials and techniques of the first batch of 12.
Including a wide-angle 3.8 litre with triple Weber carburettors, this Lightweight E-Type is in mint condition with only 1153km on the clock. Part of the Elkhart Collection that will be on auction between 1-2 May 2020 at RM Sotheby’s, the collection itself comprises the most exceptional marques and models in automotive history.
