Ayrton Senna’s Rolex Daytona watch went under the hammer
Phillips sold an Ayrton Senna’s 18K Gold Rolex Daytona in April. The rare timepiece fetched a little over $166 600. The watch was offered in superb condition and came with a series of accessories including a signed faceguard belonging to the race car driver’s helmet, making it a must-have for any Formula One fan and watch collectors.
Oskar Schindler’s personal items go on auction
RR Auction auctioned off a Longines watch that once belonged to Oskar Schindler, the industrialist who is credited with saving more than 1 200 lives during the Holocaust. A stainless steel case watch, still in its original condition, along with Oskar Schindler’s other possessions, including a medal awarded by the German government in 1938, and two Parker fountain pens, auctioned for nearly $50 000.
George Daniels’ most complicated timepiece ever sold
A month ago, Phillips offered the most complicated timepiece ever made by George Daniels as part of the Phillips Geneva Watch Auction. The Daniels Grand Complication pocket watch was made entirely by hand, and sold for a staggering $2.4 million.
