Breguet presents titanium elegance with the Marine collection

The three titanium models in the Marine collection are now available with bracelets of the same material, adding robust and light properties to this more sporty collection.

Earlier this year, Breguet unveiled a new Marine Collection inspired by the history of the brand’s naval clocks. The three self-winding wristwatches in the 2019 range – the Marine 5517, the Marine Chronographe 5527 and the Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 – share a number of defining elements, including those drawn from Breguet’s seafaring history.

The collection’s sunburst slate-gray dials in gold can now be paired with titanium bracelets. The sobriety of these shades of gray underlines the contemporary design of the Marine.

Titanium performance
Titanium provides resistance to salty air and corrosion, which is of particular interest to anyone in a marine environment while ensuring that the watch is both light in weight and robust. The artisans have applied their know-how to designing the titanium bracelet with a satin-brushed finish for each of its links. Such watchmaking finish demands of the artisans an absolute mastery of their craft so as to obtain perfectly homogeneous micro-grooving.

In its continuous quest for reliability, the House of Breguet uses self-winding manufacture calibres precision-tested in six different positions. The Marine 5517 with date display beats to the rhythm of the 777A calibre, the Marine Chronographe 5527 comes with a 582QA calibre, while the Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 incorporates the 519F calibre, and includes an alarm function, a display for a second-time zone, and the date.
