The classic quality of Italian design gives it enduring appeal and investment clout - the Amadeus Dining Table by Giorgetti and the Gregor Sofa by Molteni&C are prime examples.

As a partner of some of the most exclusive interior brands in the world, IL Lusso’s focus is design-oriented first and foremost – their goal is to bring functional and beautiful Italian furniture to the African market. Their partners are a point of pride and have all been carefully selected to represent the best of premium Italian design – global names that signify quality and tradition.

As a result, their stable includes industry heavyweights like B&B Italia, Flexform, Molteni&C and Giorgetti – companies that walk the line between classic and contemporary, and that have global reach and long histories.

We’ve put two stand-out pieces under the spotlight this month:

High design pieces from IL Lusso maintain their deep Italian roots 1

Amadeus table by Roberto Lazzeroni for Giorgetti

The Amadeus table, in solid canaletto walnut, marble and metal, is sculptural and monumental, as Giorgetti tradition wants. The important prismatic top hosts a shape in marble that highlights the several changes in the section of the top. The base hides a complex system within it, necessary to support the high weight of the object. The Amadeus table is a perfect balance between artisan and industrial production methods, stylistic choices and innovative solutions to good living.

Gregor sofa by Vincent van Duysen for Molteni&C

Furnishings and accessories designed by architect Vincent van Duysen offer an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. Van Duysen continues his research into the world of contemporary living with this Gregor modular system for Molteni&C. It includes various straight, corner or peninsular units that can be mixed and matched together to give multiple combinations for a living space made for conversation, reading and entertainment, with all media devices readily available.
