At the factory in Lipsheim, Gaggenau’s production base in France, 350 highly skilled workers meticulously craft and build the Gaggenau products. From conception to creation, a Gaggenau appliance passes through many skilled and capable hands.
Whether it’s the building of the coveted EB 333 90cm oven or the 400 Series steam oven and steam drawer, each process is assembled with care, commitment and dedication.
It’s this craftsmanship and heritage that Gaggenau South Africa celebrated earlier this month at their showroom in Cape Town.
The event highlighted artistry in many different forms, bringing together art, vintage cars and classic South African wines (think Meerlust, Graham Beck and Rickety Bridge), which were selected by the local winner of the of Gaggenau Sommelier Awards 2018, Joakim Blackadder. The selected wines were paired with culinary treats by chef Matt Manning.
A highlight of the event was watching the talented South African artist, Lily Brannon, paint a White 1963 Mercedes Benz 220 seb convertible with wine as the medium.
The combination of such craft perfectly amplified Gaggenau’s innovative design heritage of over 300 years.
