Limited editions, one-of-a-kinds and exclusives are par for the course in the luxury market. Vehicle customisation is one of the hallmarks that make buying a luxury car so desirable. Porsche has just taken it up a notch with a new innovation that enables a biometric rendering of your fingerprint to be imprinted on your 911.

The direct printing method developed by Porsche creates a high-quality graphic of your fingerprint, processes it so that it can’t be duplicated and used illegally and places it on the bonnet of your car. You’ll soon be able to put it on any part of the painted body of the car, the company is also working on other customer specific designs for the near future.

‘Individuality is very important for Porsche customers. And no design can be more personal than your own fingerprint,’ says Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualisation and Classic. ‘Porsche is a pioneer in personalisation and has developed the direct printing method together with partners. We’re especially proud of having developed a completely new product offering based on new technologies. A key factor in this was the different disciplines working together in the project team,’ says Fabig.
