Was this Benz road trip the first ever?

130 years ago investor and business woman, Bertha Benz, drove the first car ever built around Mannheim, Heidelberg, Wiesloch and Pforzheim in southern Germany.

A few weeks ago Mercedes-Benz USA released a short video depicting Karl Benz’s Patent-Motorwagen being driven by his wife. On 5 August, 1888, Bertha and her two oldest sons Richard and Eugen rolled the motorwagen away from the house on what is known in history as the first road trip.
