Wine lovers and collectors, take note - Strauss & Co presents SA’s first ‘Fine Wine Week’ ahead of the 14 September Cape Town auction.
Strauss & Co Fine Wine Auctions

Strauss & Co Fine Wine Auctions, a joint venture with leading online fine wine merchant Wine Cellar (WineCellar.co.za) and expert sommelier Higgo Jacobs, is hosting ‘Fine Wine Week’ in September – a week of incredible wine experiences from 10 – 13 September – preceding its first Cape Town Auction on Saturday 14 September.

Following the successful inaugural June auction in Johannesburg, this second larger edition Strauss & Co Fine Wine Auction held at The Westin Hotel will include iconic international wines and rare vintages of South Africa’s finest wines.

In the lead-up to the auction, a series of fine wine experiences will highlight the most remarkable lots to go under the hammer. Among these experiences is the Marquis Event, a hedonistic ‘First Growth Bordeaux’ dinner at Peter Tempelhoff’s FYN restaurant, highlighting the 1998 First Growth lot. Master of Wine Tim Aktin will host a public tasting of his 95+ point wines, poured by SA’s leading winemakers themselves. Sommelier Higgo Jacobs and Wine Cellar director Roland Peens will present a Fine Wine Workshop and finally, none other than leading SA winemaker Eben Sadie will host a once-in-a-lifetime vertical tasting of his iconic red, Columella.
