American artist and filmmaker, Joseph Cornell is best known for his glass-fronted wooden boxes which contain a surreal combination of objects bought from local junk shops, antique stores and bookstalls.

This week’s Private Screening features one of the pioneers and most celebrated exponents of assemblage as Christie’s tells the story of how Joseph Cornell created some of the landmark works of modernist art.
