Nazi-looted Old Masters painting is returned to its 97-year-old heir

Charlotte Bischoff van Heemskerch was only 15 years old, when her late father's The Oyster Meal by Jacob Ochtervelt masterpiece was stolen by former Hitler Youth Leader, Helmut Temmler. In November last, it was returned to her.

The Old Masters painting was sold earlier this month at Sotheby’s Old Master Evening Sale, in London, for over $2 million and will be divided between Charlotte’s family. This week’s Private Screening video choice looks back at the evocative short film when the heiress was reunited with the painting.
