Don’t miss The Sean Sanby Collective at Hazendal Jazz Club on 30 December 2020

Bassist Sean Sanby

Talented bassist and composer Sean Sanby brings 2020 to a wrap at the Hazendal Jazz Club, with an all-original set from his debut album ‘Out of the Candlelight’.  A graduate of the respected South African College of Music, Sanby recently returned to local shores after a year spent playing abroad. His debut album is already making waves amongst local jazz-lovers, and was recently nominated as Best Contemporary Jazz Album at the Mzantsi Jazz Awards.

Exploring universal themes of hope and potential, Sanby integrates his own lived experience with stories from Cape Town into his music. Across his repertoire these original compositions reveal the wide-range of influences that have shaped his musical journey, incorporating African musical idioms alongside elements of both traditional and contemporary jazz.

Joining Sanby on the stage at Hazendal is his ‘collective’ of young jazz talents: Muneeb Hermans (trumpet), Jesse Julies (saxophone), Bradley Prince (guitar), Brathew van Schalkwyk (piano), Lilavan Gangen (percussion) and Damian Kamineth (drums).

With innovative jazz, fine food and memorable wine, and evening with The Sean Sanby Collective is the perfect way to warm up for New Year’s Eve!

We invite all our guests to our Wine Tasting Lounge before the show to enjoy a wine tasting, glass of wine or one of our signature cocktails. Hazendal’s tapas-style inspired menu will be available during the show.

Tickets: R195 per person; door open at 17:00; show starts at 19:45; Jazz Club is open until 23:00.
