Two Icons, One Night.
The Palace Downtown’s crown jewel returned in spectacular style as TANG Dubai reopened its doors on October 1st, coinciding with the highly anticipated relaunch of the world-renowned Dubai Fountain show. Guests were treated to an unforgettable evening where award-winning Asian flavors met the most iconic views in the city.
Helmed by visionary restaurateur and entrepreneur Nicky van der Walt and the MIRAMAR Group, TANG Dubai once again set the standard for luxury dining. Positioned at the perfect vantage point, the restaurant offered guests front-row seats to the newly reimagined Dubai Fountain – a breathtaking spectacle that added even more allure to the evening.

The exclusive guest list featured an A-list gathering of international and local media alongside South African celebrities. Attendees indulged in TANG’s signature culinary journey – a sophisticated blend of modern Japanese izakaya and classic Cantonese flavours – paired with bold cocktails and the restaurant’s hallmark hospitality.
Among the notable names in attendance were Isabel dos Santos, the Angolan businesswoman once named by Forbes as Africa’s richest woman; Farhana Bodi, star of Netflix’s Dubai Bling; and Sama award-winning artist LeAnne Dlamini with her husband, music executive Sipho Dlamini. Guests also included Cape Town-born Dubai radio host Keegan Basil and entrepreneur Johanna Makgalemele, whose luxury travel brand Travel with Flair recently expanded into Dubai.
