A West Coast art love story

This week’s Private Screening features Fred and his wife Laura Weir Clarke’s collection over the past 50 years. The Clarkes have assembled a series of works on paper, sculpture and design that charts the stylistic and technical developments of post-war art and printmaking on the West Coast in the 1960s, ’70s and beyond.

The remarkable collection includes acrylic on fired clay by Ken Price, a chromogenic print by Andreas Gursky. The core of the collection, however, is formed of works by Ed Ruscha. The Clarke Collection will be offered across several Christie’s New York auctions starting from 27 September.
