A closer look at OMEGA’s Constellation Manhattan collection

Late last month at an elaborate OMEGA Iconic Ladies event, Cindy, Nicole, Alessandra and Shishi each wore a model from the new Constellation Manhattan jewellery collection.

These timepieces are distinguished by their beautiful dials made from Australian white opal. This precious stone is often known as the “Queen of Gemstones”. It is identified by its play of light and colour and has been prized since antiquity, especially amongst royalty. For extra radiance, the hours on each opal dial are marked by 12 special baguette-cut ruby indexes, whose cut is inspired by the Manhattan skyline, most notably the triangular facets of the Freedom Tower.

The 28 mm cases and bracelets are crafted from 18K Sedna™ gold with bezels featuring subtle Roman numerals that are highlighted by 154 snow-paved diamonds. For the first time at OMEGA, the iconic mono-rang bracelets are set with 192 brilliant-cut and four Constellation “star” cut diamonds in a “shooting star” pattern. In total, the watch contains more than 1 carat of gemstones.

Driven by the OMEGA calibre 4061, this special collection includes four unique models, each characterised by the precious stones used for hour-markings. As well as the one with ruby indexes, there are also models available with diamonds, blue sapphires or green emeralds.
