Breguet’s incredible age of maritime navigation

A running equation of time, perpetual calendar, tourbillon and 80 hours power reserve, the new Marine Équation Marchante 5887 may be the most complicated timepiece in the Marine collection.

Appointed “Chronometer-maker to the French Royal Navy” in 1815, Abraham-Louis Breguet and his son created the most elaborate equation of time models of their time. This week’s Private Screening pays homage to the age of sailing and Breguet’s level of detail to watch craft.
