Hublot celebrates 90 years of Scuderia Ferrari

To celebrate one of the most successful race teams of all time, Hublot presents the Big Bang Scuderia Ferrari 90th Anniversary watch, a new model that is available in three exclusive versions.
Hublot Scuderia Ferrari

The anniversary model reflects the history and heritage of Scuderia Ferrari, which is realised in three limited editions in collaboration with the Ferrari Design Centre. These timepieces illustrate the development of the materials used in car racing over the years.

The 45-mm-diametre of each of the three editions houses the famous Unico movement, a flyback chronograph that offers a 72-hour power reserve. Their bezel is cut in ceramic carbon, the same material that is used for Formula 1 brake discs.

The first anniversary version is inspired by the early years of Scuderia Ferrari. With visible metal parts, the peccary leather from the bucket seats and the brushed look of the dashboard are represented by the platinum case and the stitched perforated strap. The dial evokes old-fashioned speedometers with the calendar underlined in yellow, which aligns with one of the purest traditions of car racing.

The second version reflects the present day Scuderia Ferrari with 3D carbon that is used to make the case. Today, research into new composite materials and high-technology are all powerful in competition driving. The strap is made from Nomex, the fire-resistant synthetic fibre used to make racing driver’s suits.

And lastly, the third version is instantly recognisable by its transparent case made from sapphire, an innovative material that is hard to work, giving it a resolutely futuristic style. This demonstrates the extreme sophistication that technology is heading towards and the possibilities it offers for the future. It’s a promise of innovations that will apply to both car manufacture and watchmaking.

All three will be produced in a limited edition of 90, with 10 collector-sets housing all three watches.
