This pink gold 66-year-old watch is expected to break records at the upcoming Christie’s Masterpiece Auction taking place in Hong Kong on 23 November. With an estimated sale price of $7 million, the Patek Philippe is set to become not just the top-priced watch of the season — it could also take its place among the most highly valued watches of all time.
‘In horological terms, the 1953 Patek Philippe blue enamel world time watch is legendary and as close to perfection as one can come,’ says Alexandre Bigler, Christie’s Head of Watches for the Asia Pacific region. ‘In terms of function and form, it is a thing of sheer beauty,’ says Alexandre Bigler, a specialist at Christie’s Hong Kong Watch Department.

Rolls-Royce’s dramatic alter ego

Rolls-Royce debuted Black Badge with Wraith and Ghost in 2016 followed by Dawn in 2017. Today, the family is completed with the introduction of Black Badge Cullinan, the darkest and most urban statement of Black Badge yet. This successful alter ego is far more than an aesthetic treatment. In creating this class of car, it was of vital importance for Rolls-Royce to conceive a meticulously considered dynamic personality that perfectly harmonised with the motor car’s remarkable visual identity.

Olivia Newton-John’s collection

Earlier this month, Julien’s Auction presented the collection of Olivia Newton-John at a dedicated event in Beverly Hills. The auction commemorated one of the most celebrated and beloved pop culture icons of all time. Included in the collection were the black leather jacket and high-waisted skin-tight pants worn by Olivia Newton-John as Sandy, in the finale of Grease. The set sold for $405 700.
