A striking limited edition

This year Bentley will be manufacturing the Continental GT Limited Edition. This model celebrates a record-breaking achievement from earlier in the British marque’s centenary year. The Continental GT special coupes are limited to just 15 examples and honour Bentley’s accomplishment at the International Hill Climb which took place in June last year.

“The new Limited Edition Continental GT is distinguished by a number of carefully curated features to honour that outstanding record run. It reflects Bentley’s spirit of endeavour, one that has been a constant throughout the last 100 years and remains at the beating heart of the company,” said Chris Craft, a member of the Board for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales at Bentley Motors

Highest annual total in Sotheby’s history

Following a very successful year for the auction house, Sotheby’s has hit a watch sales record. In a press statement, the company’s 2019 watch auction sales have topped $109 million, up by 22% from 2018. According to the numbers, 44% of the lots realised prices over their high estimate. The record prices include a George Daniels legendary Space Traveller I, which sold for $4.6 million, over 30 times the price set by the watch 31 years ago.

Tom Dixon’s textiles edit

The British decor designer has released his textile edit under three categories. The first of the series is Dash which explores the imagery of landscapes, these are inspired by topographic patterns, the composition is gestural and intuitive. The second, Soft, which comprises of cushions fashioned by Dutch weavers and is composed of rare South African Angora goat hair, which is historically said to be as valuable as gold itself. And lastly, Stitch which depicts defined monochromatic forms, which have been created through meticulous hand-embroidered techniques.
