Tie into Ralph Lauren

This year Ralph Lauren celebrates 50 years of style excellence. The American fashion house has released a limited edition set of ties, Ralph Lauren’s 50th Anniversary Heritage Tie, valued a $2,600.00 featuring the companies signature elegant style. The collection consists of 10 ties personally curated by Ralph Lauren and based on his favourites styles from the early days of his career.

A local masterpiece

Irma Stern’s floral Still Life with Dahlias could fetch up to R12 million at Strauss & Co’s Cape Town auction taking place on 15 October. The internationally recognised artist has produced five painting depicting variations of the favoured flower between 1930s and 1940s. The 1947 oil on canvas artwork clearly exhibits Stern’s masterful brushwork and authoritative handling of paint.

A European first

Integrated design practice Snøhetta is constructing Europe’s first underwater bespoke restaurant. Under is schedule to open in 2019 and guests can start booking their seats in April 2019. Designed like a concrete container, Under settles into the shallows near the village Båly in Norway. The restaurant is said to double as a marine research centre when no one is dining.

Porsche concept becomes a reality

Porsche is turning their 911 Speedster concept into hard reality. The German automobile manufacturer is rolling out a limited edition run of 911 Speedsters in 2019. Prototypes for the car have been testing in Germany for the past year and brand will only be producing 1948 units.
